Friends of the Marblehead Public Schools (FMPS) believes in our schools and our town. For 25 years we have been awarding grants that spark our students’ potential and prompt us to wonder who among them will be the next scientist, inventor or artist to shine? We thank our grant writers and donors for supporting and funding innovation in our schools. They keep our mission shining brightly!
What exactly is Friends of the Marblehead Public Schools (FMPS)?
FMPS is a volunteer run 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides privately backed funding in the arts, sciences and math for our students and professional development for our teachers. For over 20 years, FMPS has awarded over $1 million to worthy educational endeavors. FMPS does not fund school building repair/maintenance, staff salaries, basic supplies, or operating costs.
How do our schools benefit?
FMPS awards collaboratively developed grants in math, science, the arts and community-building to enhance the curriculum at every grade level. Teachers and students often point to these programs as the most memorable and rewarding of their school experiences in choosing and remaining in the Marblehead school district.
How does our Town benefit?
A strong public school system strengthens our community and encourages our students to become productive, well-educated citizens. By funding groundbreaking initiatives we attract exceptional teachers to our district and families to our community.
Public school budgets are tight and fixed expenses continue to rise. FMPS brings critical, cutting edge programming and resources to our district that would otherwise not be funded.
Friends of the Marblehead Public Schools “FMPS” is a volunteer run 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and all contributions are tax deductible.
